Sub: Norms for Postmen Establishment

Sir/Madam,
                 I am directed to refer this office letters no. 31-45/73-PE.I
dt. 16.02.1975 and 31-38/79-PE.I dt. 22.05.1979 wherein ad hoc norms for postmen
Establishment were communicated.
                 The revision of ad hoc norms for Postmen establishment were
under consideration of the Department for quite some time past, Accordingly, the
Competent Authority ordered an intensive scientific work study by the IWSU of
the department. The report of Internal work study unit and their recommendations
have been carefully examined in consultation with integrated finance wing and
the Competent Authority has ordered for revision of norms for Postmen
establishment as given in the enclosure with immediate effect.
                      The Heads of circles and Regional Postmasters General are
requested to undertake a review of the implementation of revised norms after six
months and provide the for assessing the impact of new norms and undertaking a
fresh review if considered necessary.
               The revised norms communicated for Postmen establishment will
also be applicable for GDS Mail deliverer as per note below Rule 106 of Vol. VI
part III.
                  This issues in concurrence with integrated finance wing vide
their advice in dairy no. 30/FA/10/CS dated 04.02.2010.
